Who Are We?

Vicar: Father Julian Heaton
Fr. Julian is a native of this area, being born and brought up in Ashton-on-Mersey. He studied History in London and Liverpool and trained for the priesthood in Oxford.

He has mostly ministered in parishes in the Diocese of Chester (Stockport, Knutsford and Altrincham), though has also been a nursing auxiliary, a hospital chaplain in Nottingham and the Assistant Diocesan Director of Ordinands for Chester Diocese. He came to Sale in 2005.

Julian is married to Jackie, who runs both 1st Sale Moor Rainbows and 2nd Sale Moor Rainbows. They have two children, one cat and three chickens. You can contact him here vicar@salestanne.org or phone 0161 973 4145



Hon. Assistant Priests:


The Revd Olwyn Marlow

Olwyn was ordained Deacon in 1989 and was amongst the first women to be ordained Priest in 1994.She has worked in Baguley and Brooklands and as a chaplain at Manchester Royal Infirmary. She's married to Tim who’s a teacher about to take early retirement and they share their home with four cats. 

In 1999 after extensive spinal surgery she had to retire on health grounds, since then Olwyn has helped in various parishes and has enjoyed being part of the life of St. Anne with St.Francis for almost 6 years.






Father Ray
The Revd Ray Rossiter

Father Ray became a lay reader here in 1960 while employed as an income tax inspector. He was ordained in 1978. As padre to the Royal Air Forces Association (Sale Branch), Ray has conducted the annual Battle of Britain service for 30 years. He received the MBE in 1999 for services to ex-services associations including the Far East Prisoners of War group, having been a captive of the Japanese during WWII. He recently celebrated his 90th birthday.

Readers:


Paul Edwards has been a Reader at St Anne's since 1983 when he moved to Sale and is actively involved in the Parish as a member of the Local Ministers Team. Paul is married to Sylvia and they have two grown up children, Jonathan & Caroline. He took early retirement having spent nearly 30 years teaching Religious Education in Manchester. 

Currently Paul is Chair of Governors at our Church School and serves on several Diocesan and Local Authority bodies.Paul's interests include travel, theatre, music and sport: he is a passionate Sale Sharks supporter!



Alan Ward

Alan Ward moved to the parish in 1964 with his wife, Hazel, who is now a Warden here. They have two grown up children and five grandchildren. Both retired from teaching around 1990.

Alan has long been involved in Small Group work and was licensed as a Parish Assistant in 1991, remaining in this ministry until he became a Reader in 2005.

Currently Alan is involved in the parish in a number of areas including Growth Action Planning, Marriage Preparation, and House Group. His interests include DIY, travel, walking and theatre.
